Segafredo Zanetti's history is the history of a family, my family. It is a family which has been dealing in coffee for many years now. My father, my grandfather before him, and now I, have all been in the business. But there have been changes. My grandfather and father traded in green coffee, while the production and sale of roasted coffee began with me. Traditions are useless unless they can be made to work for the future. I set up my first coffee roasting company 35 years ago
At the time it was selling about a ton of roasted coffee a year. Today, the Segafredo Zanetti Group grows, selects and sells green coffee, and produces roasted coffee to an amount of more than 1,500,000 bags a year all over the world. The company's initial market was in Italy, where it soon became a leader in the Ho.Re.Ca.
The company then expanded its sales to retail shops and to international markets. Coffee (followed throughout all production phases from growth to harvesting and trading), Espresso, Quality, Service and Coffee Shops, have always been the ingredients making for the company's success.
Fazenda Nossa Senhora Da Guia
The Segafredo Zanetti group has put down firm roots in Brazil with the purchase of one of the country's most important exporters of green coffee, Nossa Senhora Da Guia Exportadora De Café (NSG).
In this way the company can supervise at the source the trend of the world's major coffee market and intervene promptly in order to guarantee constant adequate supplies.
Roasting Factories:
Optimum roasting is fundamental to obtaining a perfect coffee from the view point of both taste and aroma. Of all the processes associated with the production of a perfect cup of coffee, roasting is probably the most critical. Each coffee has its own individual characteristics which must be enhanced and not masked during the roasting process. To achieve this Segafredo Zanetti reconciles tradition and innovation in its advanced roasting factories. Of course each roasting factory prepares the Segafredo Zanetti blend in accordance with the group's original research.
